The Bachelor Program in English at Maranatha Christian University produces graduates who not only have the ability to communicate orally and in writing, but also have knowledge in the fields of literature, linguistics, and culture, so that they can use English more accurately, effectively and expressively, considering that language is a a cultural product.
Academic Activities
The Bachelor Program in English has three concentrations that students can choose according to their interests, namely:
- Literature
- Linguistics
- Applied Linguistics (if still opens)
In addition to the main courses, elective courses are also held, according to current trends. The holding of elective courses that are not directly related to literature, linguistics, or applied linguistics is intended so that students have insight and skills and abilities, both in the field of language skills, as well as knowledge and skills in secretarial, tourism, business, and others, which can support their career.
The learning process is facilitated with fully-equipped facilities, such as a computerized language laboratory, multimedia facilities, and workshop rooms. Teaching and learning activities are not only carried out in the classroom in the form of lectures, but also through practice in the form of games, demonstrations or simulations, and internships.
