The Bachelor Program in Law organizes higher education in law to produce graduates who are cultured and qualified so that they are able to carry out the legal profession in a humane and dignified manner. Graduates of this undergraduate program are not only ordinary scholars, but will have competencies, namely:
- Reliable, have academic and professional abilities, especially in the fields of business and investment.
- Have broad, global insight, and master the application of legal rules and principles in applying the law in society.
- Able to compete in the era of globalization, able to communicate well using mother tongue and foreign languages (especially English and Mandarin) orally and in writing.
- Can apply their knowledge, can explore and find fair laws in society.
- Be sensitive to the values of justice and always be sensitive to the environment, especially the marginalized who are excluded.
- Have sufficient stock and ready to take professional education level (notary, advocate/lawyer, judge, prosecutor, legal consultant, and so on), as well as higher academic level (master and doctoral).
Academic Activities
The Bachelor Program in Law has a unique curriculum, which is only owned by the Faculty of Law, Maranatha Christian University. Lecture materials are designed so that students have a good understanding, especially in reasoning and analysis of legal problems, and providing business and investment insights.
Lectures will be colored by discussing the latest legal cases, and teaching is carried out in the form of team teaching with lecturers who have competence in academics and practitioners in the field of business and investment law, including lawyers, legal consultants, notaries, judges, prosecutors, police, judges, labor, and legal officers. Lectures are not only conducted in classic classrooms, but also accommodate practical courses, in special lecture rooms designed to approach practical reality, namely the Moot Court Room, Mediation Room, and Business Transaction Room.
In the final semesters, students will do real practice in internship programs at companies, institutions, agencies, lawyers' offices, notary offices, and other institutions that partner with the Faculty of Law, or can practice at the Maranatha Christian University Legal Aid Center.
Future and Career
The legal profession today is very promising. In Indonesia, the legal profession is included in the top five highest earning professions. The career fields that a graduate can pursue include:
